Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Form M and why is it required?
Form M is Nigeria's official import authorization form. It proves the vehicle meets import regulations and is required before customs clearance. We help coordinate this form for you, though final customs clearance is handled by you or your local agent.
How much are import duties in Nigeria?
Duties typically range from 20-35% depending on vehicle value and age. The recipient pays duties at the port. We provide estimates before shipping so there are no surprises.
Can I import a non-running vehicle?
Yes, via container shipping. Container is required for non-running vehicles. The cost is higher but provides full protection during the 4-5 week ocean voyage.
How long does the whole process take?
4-5 weeks from UK collection to delivery in Nigeria. This includes collection, documentation, ocean shipping (25-30 days), and Nigerian customs clearance (5-10 days).
What documents do I need?
V5C Logbook (proof of ownership), valid passport copy, commercial invoice, and optional mechanic's report. We help coordinate Nigerian-side documentation including Form M — customs clearance itself is handled by you or your local agent.
